In no particular order, here are a few songs that I’ve been enjoying recently.
Human – Smash Into Pieces
Great catchy beat. But furthermore, I feel like it has a really good “check your life” kind of message to it. These lyrics really connect for me, since my career is in the digital/social media realm.
Music, They Call Me – The Gray Havens
I’ve been hitting replay on this in the car so much this week. Everything about this song just makes me so happy. I always just imagine someone discovering Heaven for the first time and excitedly exploring and joining in worship. I have no idea if this is what the writers were imagining, but eh… half the fun of music is what it means to each person, right? 🙂
Light Up My Room – BNL
A musician that I randomly ran across at a restaurant downtown this evening was playing what either was this song or something that had the same guitar riff… Either way. It reminded me of this pleasingly odd song. I haven’t thought about it in YEARS. I’m happy I was reminded of it and the fun memories I have of plotting a music video to this with a friend back in high school.
Crazy In Love – Beyonce
A jazz band called Liquid Pleasure covered this song at the local Live After Five event tonight. I’ve been wanting my old PS2 Dance Dance Revolution game back ever since. But I guess this YouTube video of the Beyonce original will just have to suffice 😛
