Exploring Beautiful British Columbia

Yesterday I got back from an amazing journey in British Columbia!

Of all the trips I’ve been on so far, this destination has been the most breathtakingly gorgeous. Around every bend was a new spectacular view. Now, as the old cliche goes, “a picture is worth 1,000 words”. So that is exactly what I am going to give you in this post!

Here are the highlights from my international excursion:

Matthew, my traveling companion, borrowed my camera and took this shot of me enjoying Lynn Canyon Park.

Suspension bridge at Lynn Canyon Park.

This is called an Inukshuk. These little guys were originally built by the indigenous people of Canada.

Watched a perfect sunset at Lighthouse Park.

The shoreline of Vancouver, BC.

I love that this city is surrounded by mountains and ocean water.

Lighthouse Park, as the sun grows darker.

The Vancouver shore at night, situated across from the lighthouse.

Light beams in Squamish, BC.

Lovely mountain views in Squamish, and a native totem pole.

We managed to get one of the last two campsites at Stawamus Chief Park!

Matthew, enjoying a gorgeous morning on the cliff we hiked up to.

The Sea to Sky Highway is now one of my favorite stretches of road ever.

We went to the top of Grouse Mountain. Did you know that this is the largest aerial tramway system in North America?

It may not appear so in the photo, but this treehouse is actually almost two stories tall and is rumored to be around 60 years old!

Our final big adventure? Discovering street art central under a bridge near Vancouver!

Of course, this post wouldn’t be complete without a shot of me and my travel mate/Canadian connection! Many thanks to Matthew for all the fun, laughs, destination ideas, and for providing CAD when I failed to remember that a currency exchange would be necessary.

Oh what a beautiful place that is!!!
I knew someone who went there a few years back and told me of some of the places you went to. That bridge looks scary (I don’t do bridges like that well). You are so brave.
    I love the tree house!!!!
What fun! Glad you and the BC travel companion Matthew had a good time.

It really is! BC is the prettiest place I’ve been to. Their “Beautiful British Columbia” license plates don’t lie!
